DUCHESNE COUNTY JUSTICE CENTER
In May of 1997, the new Duchesne County Justice
Center opened it's doors. The building is home to the State of Utah 8th District
Court, the Justice Court, the Duchesne County Attorney and the Duchesne County Sheriff's
Office. Located on a bench just north of Duchesne, the $8.2 million dollar facility
was funded through a combination of Community Impact Board Funds and a bond
election.
Ralph Stansfield, a native of Duchesne County,
is just completing his first term as Sheriff and has seen his staff swell from 13
employees in 1994 to over 50. He has also coordinated the efforts to build the
Justice Center and renovate the old county jail into the only Utah Correctional Industries
worksite located outside of a Utah Department of Corrections facility.
Our Department is an important source of Public
Information. We hope you enjoy browsing our Website and find it educational, informative
and useful.
