Summer Reading Program:
The Duchesne County Library/Uintah
Basin Bookmobile summer reading program came to its' conclusion with a barbeque and pool
party on Wednesday, August 13. This year's party was attended by a record 125
people. This year's 65 participants read a total of 2,920 hours. What an
achievement!
Library staff and bookmobile staff members would like to
take this opportunity to thank the members of the Roosevelt City Council, Kirk Wentworth,
and pool lifeguards for their support at this year's party.
"My staff and I would like to
congratulate all of this year's participants in our summer
reading program. We hope libraries become a part of your
lives for many years to come."
stated Library Director, Lorie Womack.
Interlibrary Loan:
Our library is connected to a nationwide inter-library
loan program. This means if we don't have a particular title you are looking for we
can locate it at another library for you. Our library charges $1.75 per book, video or
audio recieved through this service. Newspaper and Magazine articles are free of
charge. It can take from 2 to 6 weeks for books to arrive depending where the item
is located. We have had great success with locating items through this service and
would be more than happy to order materials for you.
Bookmobile:
Duchesne County is serviced by the Uintah Basin
Bookmobile Library. This mobile library is headquartered in Duchesne and it's
service area includes Duchesne, Uintah and Dagget Counties. For more information on
bookmobile schedules contact a member of the bookmobile staff at (435) 738-2628.
Pioneer:
Pioneer is a statewide library network that allows
library patrons access to things like full-text magazine articles,
genealogy information,
car repair manuals, the latest library news and research tools. If you have not used
Pioneer, check it out at
http://pioneer.lib.ut.us.
Library staff members would be more than happy to introduce you to pioneer and
teach you how to use it. All you need to do is ask.
Duchesne Branch:
the Duchesne Branch is currently still
under construction. It should be opened later this year.
