CANDIDACY
If you are interested in running for office,
you must declare candidacy.
Countywide elections
are held on even-numbered years and are administered by the County Clerk/Auditors
office. You may declare candidacy by coming to the County Clerk Office, 734 N.
Center Street, Duchesne, Utah. (20A-9-201; 20A-9-202)
Non-partisan candidates are also to file
during this filing period. Judicial (20A-12-201[2]); Local School (20A-14-203);
County Justice Court Judge (20A-12-201)

Municipal elections
to elect the mayor and council members are nonpartisan and are held on odd-numbered years.
These elections are administered by the City offices and the polling places may be
different than those used in even-numbered years. Each person seeking to become a
candidate for a municipal office shall file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the
city recorder or the town clerk during office hours and not later than 5:00 PM.
Special District.
To become a candidate for an elective position on a special district board, the qualified
person must file his Declaration of Candidacy paper in person with the special district
clerk during office hours and not later than 5:00 PM.
