MINUTES FOR REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING HELD JANUARY 6, 2003 BEGINNING AT 1:00 P.M. IN THE COMMISSION BOARD ROOM
IN DUCHESNE, UTAH

Commissioners Present:  Commission Chairman Lorna Stradinger, Commissioner Larry S. Ross, and Commissioner Kent R. Peatross

Others Present:  Clerk/Auditor Diane Freston, and Carol Casey taking minutes

Oath of Office for Newly Elected Officials of Duchesne County  Elected Officials and Newly Elected Officials Present for Oath of Office:  Assessor - Greg Garff; Attorney - Cleve Hatch; Clerk/Auditor - Diane Freston; Commissioner - Larry Ross; Commissioner - Kent Peatross; Recorder - Carolyne Burdick Madsen; Sheriff - Mervin Gustin; Surveyor - Jerry Allred; Judge John R. Anderson administered the Oath of Office to the elected officials.

Motion:   Commissioner Ross made a motion to accept the board assignments as defined.   Commissioner Peatross second.  Motion carried.  Roll Call Vote:  All Commissioners Voting Aye.

Motion:   Commissioner Peatross nominated Commissioner Ross to act as Commission Chairman for year 2003.  Motion carried.  Roll Call Vote:  All Commissioners Voting Aye.

Motion:   Commissioner Peatross motioned that a letter of recognition of the elected officials leaving office be prepared by the clerk's office.  A copy of the letter is to be faxed to the Uintah Basin Standard.  Commissioner Ross second.  Motion carried.  Roll Call Vote:  All Commissioners Voting Aye.

Auditor's Office - Vouchers - Tax Adjustments - Department Head Time Sheets - Personnel Issues - Finances
Vouchers:  Deputy Auditor Becky Norris presented vouchers #82151-82281 totaling $243,828.77 for approval.

Motion:   Commissioner Peatross made a motion to accept the vouchers.  Commissioner Ross second.  Motion carried.  Roll Call Vote:  All Commissioners Voting Aye.

Approval of December 23, 2002 Commission Minutes
Motion:  Commissioner Ross made a motion to accept the minutes with corrections.  Commissioner Peatross second.  Motion carried.  Roll Call Vote:  All Commissioners Voting Aye.

Tax Adjustments - Treasurer
